Transeasonal Styling - The Midi Skirt
Date Posted:13 August 2020
If you’re looking for transeasonal wardrobe inspiration, here’s how you can wear a Midi Skirt in effortless style.
There is one simple rule when it comes to styling a Midi Skirt – make sure you’re defining your waistline. When a top covers the midi skirt, it can look unproportionate with no definition i.e. a shapeless mess. The answer to accent the waistline lies in the art of tucking! Tucking in a shirt or top, whether it be a full or half tuck, elegantly shows of the waistline and creates an hourglass silhouette. The below styles will show you five ways you can style a midi skirt with essential wardrobe basics you may already have, if not need.
Styling: If you don’t already own a Woven Blouse, make sure it’s on your Spring wishlist. This is a wardrobe staple that can be paired with anything and everything. In the video, we’ve kicked in a creative flare to the tuck; gathering one side of the shirt and tucking it diagonally, repeating the same on the other side.
Styling: We’ve created the easiest, most perfect weekend look with our Eadie Top in White & Black Stripe. Whether you’re going to a Sunday Market or afternoon drinks with friends on a Saturday, this little ensemble is too cute not to wear. We’ve teamed it with a denim jacket for transeasonal and unpredictable weather.
Styling: Don’t pack your Turtleneck Top away just yet - transeasonal weather and cool offices will be screaming for it! With our Turtle Neck Top, we’ve curated the ultimate girl boss work look, adding just three accessories – a long simple necklace, a pea coat and tall boots. Pairing slouchy boots with a midi skirt is a no-brainer and a great way to have fun with texture and shapes. We’ve thrown on a tan pea coat over the shoulders for extra warmth and wind protection.
Styling: A wide belt is also a key piece to accentuate the waistline. We’ve tucked our Rachelle Top completely in and topped it off with a stretchy woven belt.
For effortless flow, try matching your accessories to complement each other. For example, here we’ve played with textures, pairing a woven belt with a woven bag. We’ve kept the colour flow with tan slides and a beige hat.
Styling: A slouchy knit, like our Crew Neck Knit is an ideal option for the transeasonal periods. It’s comfortable and timeless, perfect for the days where you don’t really want to make the effort but do want to look stylish. For a relaxed look, simply tuck the front of your knit into the midi skirt and let it hang. To keep the laidback look flowing, put on a pair of sneakers or throw on boots for cooler days.
Inspiration!By: Lou on 5 September 2020Thank you for this great styling video. I was looking online for a skirt with versatility and came across this (after seeing an Instagram post) and was very inspired by all the looks created here. I bought this midi skirt and have been wearing it with everything! And it’s soooo comfortable you wear too! Such a great investment piece for my wardrobe. Thank you! Will be looking for more styling videos before my next purchase (I just watched the tube skirt video and thinking that will be my next purchase....)
