What to wear when the weather is unpredictable.

During this time of the year the weather can be very unpredictable, sunny one moment, freezing the next, so you need to be prepared. Creating a versatile transeasonal wardrobe is all about getting the building blocks right. Choosing the right foundation pieces that can adapt to unpredictable weather.

Here are 5 simple style elements that can help you create your wardrobe.

1. Layering

Layering would have to be the easiest way to be prepared!

The Waterfall Cardi is perfect. It’s a stylish add on to any outfit while also adding warmth. Out of all of our cardigans I specifically chose the waterfall because while it may have long sleeves you can push them up if you’re too warm or even just take the cardi off!

Our Bamboo Leggings are also an easy style decision. You can add them to any skirt, dress or top. They add extra warmth without being overwhelming.

For something a bit more lightweight you could try our Woven Kimono. It comes in our beautiful in-house designed Rain Dance print.

2. Mid-lengths

It may seem a bit too simple but some of the best things are! We have a large range of mid-length styles that wont leave you feeling too hot or cold.

The Ada Boatneck is a Bamboo Body classic. It’s elegant boatneck is so flattering and the 3/4 length sleeves make it an all year round top. It comes in a large range of colours too!

Other honourable mentions go to the Hi Lo Hem Top, the Cater Tunic Top and the 3/4 Sleeve St Tropez. All have a mid-length sleeve, just depends on the style you want.

But it’s not just tops! Try our Bamboo Culottes and Pocket Pants for a mid length pant. The Pocket Pants even have an adjustable tab on the side so you can roll them up or keep them at full length.

3. Adaptable Pieces

Part of having a transeasonal wardrobe comes down to your ability to be creative with your styling.

Styles like our Bamboo Pocket Dress and Swing Dress make it easy for you to wear them in hot weather or you can put a shirt ontop or underneath for cooler weather.

Our Maxi Dress has a lot of fabric to keep your legs warm for those cold mornings but as the weather warms up during the day you can simply tie up the bottom of the dress to create a shorter style and show of your legs.

4. Lightweight

Having lightweight pieces in your closet is essential for layering.

Our Long Sleeve Woven Blouse is the perfect over-shirt as it can be styled so many ways! Check out our blog post How To Style Your Woven Blouse to see its versatility.

Our knit range is also perfect for layering. We purposefully designed our knits to be layered, that’s why they are so fine and lightweight.

5. Bamboo Was A Good Decision

By actually just choosing bamboo fabric you’ve made a great transeasonal style decision! Bamboo fabric is thermo-regulating. Its breathable nature won’t leave you too hot or cold. Bamboo is also moisture wicking, it absorbs moisture keeping your body fresh and dry.

The best part of creating a wardrobe with transeaonal pieces is that they can be worn all year round. At Bamboo Body we believe having adaptable clothing is important to creating a sustainable wardrobe which means more wear per piece of clothing and less textile waste in landfill! How good is that!

Not enough short sleeve items for older women. Too many sleeveless clothes. Jackets please.

Bamboo Body Response
You should check out the Veronica Top, Sophie Top, Carter Tunic, Pia Bamboo Tee, Eadie Top, St. Tropez and Woven Blouse for a short sleeve top that you may like. Also have a look at our Drape Cardi and Everyday Cardi for jacket options. Thanks for your feedback!
