Bamboo for Every Body
Date Posted:2 July 2019
When Amanda and I started Bamboo Body back in 2005, it was our mission to bring bamboo clothing to all people. Back all those years ago, there was very little awareness about the devastating impact that the textile industry was having on the environment or the people working along the supply chain. Hardly any clothing was made from eco-conscious and sustainable fabrics and those items that were available on the market were very alternate in appearance and generally not easy for the average person to incorporate into their wardrobe and everyday life.
We were so excited when we discovered bamboo fabric and we wanted everyone to be able to experience the beautiful, soft fabric and have the opportunity to look good, feel good and do good. That’s the ethos our brand was built upon. It’s a constant work in progress for us and as time has passed we always come back to our original vision. Bamboo Body launched its first collection in early 2006 with 6 styles in 5 sizes. We listened to customer feedback and gradually introduced new styles for different body types and increased our size range to 7 sizes across almost all styles.
We have now made our clothing range even more inclusive by introducing size 4XL in our best sellers and we are also working towards including more petite styles and re-introducing size XXS too.
We want everyone to be able to experience the luxurious feel and comfort of bamboo clothing. If you have any specific style requests you would like to see in our extended size range let us know in our comment section below. We are always listening and appreciate your feedback. We can’t make changes overnight (we aren’t fast fashion!) but we do continuously work on incorporating your ideas into our collection over time (keep your eyes peeled for new colours arriving in the next 6 months).
In the mean time here are some photos from a shoot we did with the beautiful Lauren. She's size XL/XXL and 180 cm tall. All styles pictured are available in sizes XS - 4XL. All of these pieces are wardrobe building blocks and can be mixed and matched and layered.
